Is there truly a distinction between the known green-fleshed kiwi and its more recent golden sibling?

Most people are familiar with the green-fleshed kiwi fruit, which has a nice acidity and a sweet, lemony flavor.

It has 90 calories, 1 gram of fat, 2 gram of protein, 462 mg potassium, and 137 milligrams of vitamin C.

Prior to the introduction of the Sungold variety, gold kiwi were cultivated in New Zealand from seeds transported directly from China.

Sungold kiwis are valuable not just because they are disease-resistant, but also because they are delicious.

Zespri praises the Sungold as "refreshingly pleasant" and highlights its hairless exterior, smaller center, and reduced number of seeds.

This variety of kiwi has a somewhat softer texture, and some say it tastes like a cross between a mango and a strawberry.

Vitamin C content in the Sungold kiwi is 290 percent of the USRDA, which is 100 calories, no fat, 2 grams of protein, and 510 milligrams of potassium in one serving.
