How Long Can Eggs Be Stored In The Fridge?

start exploring

It makes sense to have one or two cartons of eggs in your refrigerator at any one moment. Which raises the question, how long are these eggs good for?

Eggs have a rather lengthy shelf life provided they are stored appropriately. Eggs Are Suitable For A Few Weeks In The Refrigerator.

According to the USDA, raw eggs can be refrigerated for three to five weeks if purchased before the sell-by or expiration date and stored immediately.

Eggs should be stored in the coldest part of the refrigerator at a temperature of 40 degrees F or less. However, do not place them in the fridge's egg tray.

Because every time you open your fridge, the temperature in that region of the fridge fluctuates, you should never store your eggs there.

Keep eggs in their carton for optimal results. The container keeps eggs from absorbing aromas or flavors from other items in the fridge and from drying out.

If the shell of raw eggs has been removed, various time limits apply. Raw egg whites can be stored in the refrigerator for up to four days.

However, raw eggs that have been lightly beaten and raw egg yolks (which should be covered with water to prevent drying) can be stored in the refrigerator for up to two days.
