Trader Joe's Has Just Announced 19 New And Returning Fall Items

Prepare yourselves, fall lovers! The autumn season is quickly approaching, promising comfortable cold weather, an abundance of pumpkin goods, crunchy leaves, and a vast selection of seasonal goodies at your local Trader Joe’s.

While Trader Joe’s sells a wide range of supermarket items all year, the shop constantly refreshes its food and beverage offerings to accentuate the most extraordinary tastes of each season. The fall of 2023 is no exception.

Tara Miller and Matt Sloan, marketing professionals and producers of the Inside Trader Joe’s podcast, unveiled some of the most exciting goods hitting stores this fall in a new episode released this week. This includes returning goods that consumers have come to love and brand-new products that customers can try for the first time.

Just keep in mind that Miller and Sloan did not cover every autumn product that shoppers may see in shops this year, so it’s worth browsing your local Trader Joe’s for any more great fall things now available.

Here are the 19 new and returning food products revealed in Inside Trader Joe’s latest episode:

    Mini Maple-Flavored Marshmallows

These Mini Maple-Flavored Marshmallows, an autumn twist on a traditional marshmallow, are a new vegan item at Trader Joe’s. Miller and Sloan advised topping a cup of hot chocolate with them or substituting them for normal marshmallows in a batch of crispy rice snacks. This item will be available shortly after it hits shops in early September.

    Double Fold Bourbon Vanilla Extract

The new Double Fold Bourbon Vanilla Extract, not to be mistaken with Trader Joe’s Organic Pure Bourbon Vanilla Extract, is a stronger, more flavored version of the classic baking ingredient. Trader Joe’s supplier uses twice as much vanilla in making this extract and strengthens it with genuine vanilla bean seeds. The new vanilla extract comes in 3.55-ounce bottles and is currently available at Trader Joe’s locations. It will only be accessible for a short period of time and while supplies remain.

    Wicked Good Mini Chocolate Bars

After years of consumer demands, Trader Joe’s is finally producing its own Halloween candy collection. Wicked Good Mini Chocolate Bars are available in 24-piece boxes in four flavors: nougat, nougat & caramel, peanut & caramel, and caramel & wafer. These should be available in shops soon, so stock up.

    Butternut Squash Mac & Cheese

The Butternut Squash Mac & Cheese, one of Trader Joe’s most popular and requested autumn recipes, returned to stores last week, much to the pleasure of customers. Miller said that when the product was initially introduced in 2017, they did not anticipate it becoming the success it is now. According to Sloan, Trader Joe’s is trying to supply more packets of the popular item than ever before in 2023 to fulfill the strong demand.

“I’m not sure it’s enough still, but we’ll see,” he said.

Organic Bourbon Barrel Aged Vermont Maple Syrup

This reintroduced product is different from your typical maple syrup. Despite its name, the Organic Bourbon Barrel matured Vermont Maple Syrup contains no alcohol, but it does have bourbon undertones from the repurposed barrels in which it was matured. Pour it over a stack of pancakes, drizzle it over vanilla ice cream, or use it as a glaze for ham, as Sloan and Miller advised. The item is already available at Trader Joe’s.

    Fall Harvest Salsa

This old standby is a great autumn spin on a basic salsa. Instead of tomatoes, the Fall Harvest Salsa includes honey-roasted pumpkin pieces, diced butternut squash, jalapenos, chopped sweet apples, honey, vinegar, and lime. Miller and Sloan advised eating it with chips or getting creative by topping fish or pork tenderloin.

    Gluten Free Pumpkin Ravioli

For years, Trader Joe’s has offered a traditional Pumpkin Ravioli in the autumn, but the shop is now releasing a gluten-free version this year. Gluten-free pasta is loaded with pumpkin purée, kabocha squash, a combination of three cheeses, honey, brown sugar, and numerous autumn spices in the new Gluten Free Pumpkin Ravioli. According to Miller, this alternative may appeal to clients looking for “a more savory take on a pumpkin ravioli.”

    Honeycrisp Apple Granola

From apple pie to cider donuts, apples are featured in some of the most traditional autumn meals. Trader Joe’s new Honeycrisp Apple Granola deviates from conventional apple autumn snacks by including the fruit. The recipe calls for rolled oats, dried Honeycrisp apple slices, cane sugar, honey, molasses, and a variety of autumn spices. This item is already in shops. However, it will only be available for a short time.

    Maple Flavored Fudge

Although Maple Flavored Fudge is not a new product, it is new at Trader Joe’s! These confections are made by an English supplier using salted butter, sweetened condensed milk, sugar, and maple syrup, all cooked in traditional copper pans. To balance out the sweetness, the podcast presenters advised serving the fudge with a portion of savory food. This limited edition item is already available in shops.

    Cinnamon Sugar Toffee Trio

This new fall-themed candy was created by the same source that created Trader Joe’s English Toffee. The Cinnamon Sugar Toffee Trio includes bits of buttery, crispy toffee wrapped in milk, dark, or white chocolate, as well as a cinnamon sugar coating. Sloan called it a “snickerdoodle take on a toffee candy.” The podcast presenters did not specify when the product would be available, so keep an eye out for it!

    12 Mini Pumpkin Ginger Scones

This new item may be found in your local Trader Joe’s frozen area rather than the baked goods department. The 12 Mini Pumpkin Ginger Scones flavors are derived from pumpkin purée and candied ginger. They come pre-baked, so you can bake a couple anytime you want a tremendous autumn-baked item. This limited edition item is already available at Trader Joe’s.

    Avocado Ranch Salad Kit

A new salad will be available in the refrigerated section of Trader Joe’s. According to Sloan, the Avocado Ranch Salad kit contains chopped vegetables, corn chips, cheddar cheese, “crunchy bits,” and an avocado ranch dressing. While the salad is delicious, the podcasters advised transforming it into a complete dinner by adding chicken, beef, or tofu.

    All-Butter Sugar Cookie Dough

Trader Joe’s is keeping things simple with their new All-Butter Sugar Cookie Dough. According to Miller, the components are restricted to flour, sugar, butter, water, eggs, vanilla essence, vanilla bean, leavening, and sea salt, making it quite comparable to what you would prepare at home. This limited edition item should be available in retailers soon.

    Garlic and Asiago Cheese Dip

Unlike previous Trader Joe’s dips, designed to be served cold, this new dip is meant to be served hot. Miller described it as “delightfully cheesy,” while Sloan described it as “all the goodness of garlic bread as a dip.” Customers will be able to purchase it in shops at the end of September.

    Chocolate Hazelnut Ground Coffee

If you’re looking for a hot cup of coffee with one of your seasonal Trader Joe’s sweets, the new Chocolate Hazelnut Ground Coffee could be just what you’re looking for. The provider buys 100% Arabica coffee beans from a famous coffee-growing area in Brazil, softly roasts them, and then adds chocolate and hazelnut undertones using a natural flavor oil. The new coffee is now available in retailers.

Roasted Hatch Chili and Jalapeño Cheese Dip

The new Roasted Hatch Chili and Jalapeno Cheese Dip, like the Garlic and Asiago Cheese Dip, is supposed to be served hot. Despite sliced and diced jalapenos on top and throughout the dip, Miller and Sloan agreed that it wasn’t sweltering. This item is expected to hit retailers in early to mid-October.

    Halloween Gummies

Trader Joe’s Halloween Gummies returned for the 2023 autumn season after a multi-year break owing to manufacturing concerns. Miller characterized them as “soft, juicy, and flavorful.” The presenters did not mention when the Halloween Gummies will be available again, but given that Halloween is just about a month away, it should be quick.

    Organic Maple Vinaigrette Dressing

With the reintroduction of the Organic Maple Vinaigrette Dressing, shoppers now taste the savory side of those traditional autumn maple tastes. Apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, orange juice, and a touch of organic maple syrup combine to make a sweet, savory, and adaptable Vinaigrette. Sloan emphasized the dressing’s flexibility, saying it’s fantastic as a marinade or a flavor boost for a stir fry.

    Organic Clove Powder

Trader Joe’s already incorporates this toasty autumn spice into a variety of seasonal treats, but you can also pick up a jar for your personal baking needs this season. While ground cloves are available year-round at most major grocery stores, Trader Joe’s Organic Clove Powder is only open seasonally. The radio presenters should have mentioned when the Organic Clove Powder will be available in shops, so anybody interested should watch it on their next Trader Joe’s run.
