Chipotle Is Reintroducing Its Most Popular Menu Item

There’s a high chance you have a go-to order at Chipotle, whether you’re a regular or go once in a while. We all know precisely what we’re eating and with which toppings before we ever walk inside the restaurant, whether it’s a bowl, burrito, or the new fajita quesadilla.

However, your order may be problematic if you love one of Chipotle’s limited-time protein selections. If you choose the exciting, new options, such as Chipotle’s chicken al pastor or carne asada, over its classics, such as chicken or steak, Chipotle may discontinue the menu item on any given day.

However, with enough people pleading with Chipotle to bring back a protein, you could get another opportunity to consume it.

You will, at least, with Chipotle’s Carne Asada. That’s correct. Chipotle is reintroducing their popular Carne Asada for the first time in three years.

Chipotle introduced their Carne Asada, a marinated beef seasoned with cumin, coriander, oregano, lime juice, and cilantro, in 2019—and it was an instant smash. According to Chipotle, more than 10 million people purchased the limited-time offering, so the company decided to bring it back in 2020. Today, Chipotle claims that their Carne Asada is customers’ most often requested menu dish.

Chipotle clearly listened to its fans since it’s reintroducing the Carne Asada to menus in the United States and Canada for a limited time—and this time, you can order it in a different manner. For the first time, Chipotle’s Carne Asada will be available in the brand’s quesadilla and viral fajita quesadilla, as recommended by Chipotle’s head chef.

Chipotle’s chief chef, Neville Panthaky, suggests the Carne Asada Fajita Quesadilla, which comes with Monterey Jack cheese, fajita veggies, and three sides. Panthaky’s selection of sides? White rice with cilantro lime, black beans, and sour cream.

Of course, you may order Carne Asada as your protein in any of Chipotle’s menu options.

Chipotle has yet to specify how long the Carne Asada will be on the menu this time, but we’d order it sooner rather than later just to be safe.
